the difference between eggs

Does anyone know why the bulk brown Stiebr's eggs are a bit more expensive than the white Stiebr's in cartons? Both are non-organic. Usually, when something is cheaper and more convenient, it's not a good idea, but I was just wondering what is the difference in the eggs. Thanks,
Ian

Re: the difference between eggs

i don't know about Stiebr's eggs specifically but, the reason white eggs are the most common is grocery stores is because of cost/production ratio.  Leghorns and other white egg laying hens have a higher laying rate to feed ratio.  They lay more eggs with less feed making them more cost efficient.  there are heavy producing brown layers, but not as efficient as the white egg layers
