Have you ever wondered how to use a scythe? How about all the great Japanese hand tools the Garden Center carries? Rick Peters, co-op neighbor and longtime member, has been gardening, weeding, and mowing his lawn without motorized equipment for decades. He will show you some basic techniques for using several tools, as well as how to sharpen them using a sharpening stone (sharpening demo only – you’ll have to practice at home!). This will be a fun intro to some lesser known tools that will help you be more graceful and efficient while reducing your carbon footprint.
